Voty is based on a DID (Decentralised Identity) system call . We want to represent the real structure of a community and mirror the decision-making and management process onto the chain.
An organiser is the one who imported the community. An organiser sets the Main DID for the community, all the subsequent members will be given a SubDID for this Main DID. For example, if the organiser imported a community using the Main DID of voty.bit
, then his fellow member's SubDID will look like arvin.voty.bit
.
If you are an organiser and look forward to import a community, see .
A member of a community is defined by whether he holds a SubDID of this community's Main DID. In a community, voting weight are tied to this identity, or SubDID the whole time, and we use this to categorise people into different workgroups.
To prevent potential attacks, SubDID issued after a proposal is published in a workgroup is not eligible to vote on this proposal. This is to prevent people buying votes after submitting a proposal.
Only the community importer will have the right to create Topic Grant rounds, but it is open to every community member to vote on grant proposals. We do this to promote the openness and hope to incentivise the booming of new ideas on a community-wise level.
